Fursona: Tanya 'Tox' 2013 Ref

Oh god I can't draw ref sheets I am so bad at organisation But I finally accept after 7/8 years that Tox is my main fursona, even if we don't share a heck of a lot of personality traits...I hope |'D

An introverted, insecure beast at heart, Tanya appears to most on a first meeting (should she be stable) as a brusque and sarcastic vixen, one who prefers informality and efficiency over political politeness. She’s a coarse, unladylike creature with little regard for rank and file, treating everybeast equally and thusly with her derision. Her roughened dialect is fake, her violence pure instinct and her trust in others often false.

A long series of poor life choices and complex social ties have greatly heightened Tanya’s paranoia these days, a trait which can frustrate those few whom she cares for with her overbearing nature to ensure their safety. Fueled by an inherent need to prove herself, Tanya is prone to internal second-guessing and anxiety, though her inability to directly deal with these issues means that she instead becomes increasingly more aggressive and petty with the general populace.

With the ability to swing from curiously childish to frighteningly cold in a matter of seconds, she is known as being an unpredictable and often confusing sort. Her childhood having been mostly denied to her, Tanya indulges in periods of regression, pulling pointless little pranks and generally not acting her age.
Often over-sensitive, bitter and swift to judge others, she keeps a distance from beasts she hasn't much experience with and drives those she knows well to their wits end with her magnetism for trouble and frustrating personality. She is unable to leave most anything remotely shiny alone, and is well known for appropriating anything from tavern silverware to Museum property, if its not bolted down.

A history of complex and unpleasant atrocities has left the vixen somewhat addled and, after years of shutting down all sense of morals and emotions to do what needed to be done to survive, everything has begun to creep up on her in the form of various voices within her mind. This overwhelming sense of guilt has since been diagnosed as the catalyst for an unidentified, unpredictable psychosis the diminutive fox harbours, a possibly hereditary trait she shares with her niece. The results, influence and frequency of these 'episodes' can vary depending on the context, though it often reveals itself as heightened paranoia, physical aggression, discussions with herself and swift mood changes.

A loyal, companion in danger and workaholic by nature, Tanya's qualities do exist, if one is prepared to seek them out. Her oft-buried gentleness tends to display itself most often in her work, repairing the steam-driven machines which the towns depend upon or fixing up the more delicate clockworks. The majority of her scars and injuries were inflicted as the result of careless work amongst heavy machinery or foolishness down in the dockyards: she prefers to stick to smaller, simpler work these days unless persuaded by her employers. Her previous work fitting steam engines aboard ships has led to a few...Interesting concequences and several drowned crew.
